Meet Tom, one of the newest additions to our team!
Tom has already hit the ground running, bringing adaptability, a love of well-organised data, and a strong appreciation for asking the right questions early. We caught up with him to hear about his transition into the role, what drives his productivity, and how building magnetic tile towers might just be his secret superpower outside of work.
How are you finding your new role at Everything Tech?
It’s been a great experience so far, there are plenty of friendly faces and good working practices in place which makes the transition into any new role an easier process
What experience are you keen to bring across from your previous role?
A big one is adaptability, being able to juggle the required tasks and priorities without losing sight of the bigger picture. Also, a healthy appreciation for documentation and well-organised data storage practices.
What’s something that you’ve recently learned that’s helped you in your role?
Asking questions early saves time later.
What’s your go-to productivity hack?
I’m a big fan of a list, to-dos and plans are the cornerstone of a well-maintained and organised working week. It’s also a pretty satisfying feeling to be able to tick tasks off, the more longstanding the task, the better.
What’s the most rewarding part of working with the team?
Everyone’s genuinely helpful and happy to share knowledge, it’s also helpful that the team are incredibly experienced and on average, have many more years under their belt than myself across the board.
What’s a recent challenge that you’ve overcome at work?
Getting up to speed with new systems and processes is always a bit of a challenge but I think I’m slowly but surely getting there.
Any upcoming projects that you can share with us?
There’s a few interesting things in the pipeline but I can’t give much away, think streamlining and data.
What’s your go-to hobby when the workday’s done?
I have two very small children so hobbies have taken a bit of a back seat – although I am getting very good at building things with magnetic tiles, if a role in the tech sector doesn’t work out for me I think this could be a firm back up.
