Say hi!
Everything Tech has achieved ISO 14001 certification

At Everything Tech, doing the right thing is central to how we operate as a business. In 2025, as part of our commitment to strengthening our sustainability strategy and reducing our environmental impact, we achieved ISO 14001 certification, the internationally recognised environmental management system (EMS) standard.

Achieving the ISO 14001 standard demonstrates our commitment to responsible environmental management, sustainability and continuous improvement. This milestone reflects the progress we’ve made and the principles that continue to guide our environmental responsibility and sustainable business practices.

To explore what this achievement means in practice, we spoke with Phil Slingsby, our Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance, about why ISO 14001 certification was important for Everything Tech, the environmental improvements we’ve implemented, and how this supports our long-term sustainability goals.

In the Q&A below, Phil shares insights into the journey to achieving ISO 14001 certification and what it means for Everything Tech and our customers moving forward.

Why was achieving ISO 14001 certification important for us as a business?

‘Doing the right thing’ is a core principle, and we wanted to demonstrate this internally and externally in terms of the environment and sustainability. Our customers also showed an interest in this area of governance so achieving ISO14001 was a good way of providing them assurance in this area.

Why does environmental responsibility matter to you personally?

I spend a lot of my time enjoying the world around me, and I want to do as much as I can to protect it for not only myself but future generations.

What does ISO 14001 represent for us beyond a badge or requirement?

It represents doing the right thing in a clear, transparent way which can also be independently verified so it’s not just us saying we do the right thing, somebody else is confirming this. It means we’re actually doing things as a Group and as employees that can make a small contribution to our world.

What practical changes did we make to meet ISO 14001 requirements?

We’ve made sure we understand our environmental impacts in more detail and have put arrangements in place to ensure we are doing everything we reasonably can. We have introduced facilities to enable us to recycle more waste streams, and we have introduced training to raise awareness of how we can all make a difference.

How has this improved the way we manage environmental risks?

Understanding our impacts means we can also understand their risk based on several criteria, and in turn decide how we can potentially reduce this, or at the very least not increase risk.

How does this standard help us be a better partner for our customers?

Some customers need to demonstrate environmental and sustainability within their supply chains so having ISO14001 makes it easier for us and them to evidence this.

Where do you see Everything Tech going next in environmental responsibility?

We want to try and develop quantifiable measures. We also want to look at our purchasing of products and services to align with sustainability criteria more clearly.

What are you most proud of the team for?

I’m proud that everybody we’ve spoken to have embraced what we’re trying to achieve and supported this wherever they can. Everybody is part of the environmental team, as we can all make an individual difference.

Achieving ISO 14001 certification is a significant milestone for Everything Tech, but it’s only the beginning.

As we continue to develop measurable sustainability initiatives, strengthen our environmental management system and embed environmental awareness across the business, our focus remains on making practical, meaningful improvements that support a more sustainable future for our people, our customers and the planet.
